Couples enjoy a complimentary engagement session with their wedding package booking
One of the questions I get asked the most about engagement sessions is, are they important and why do we need one?
Think of your E Session as a test drive. The opportunity to work together on a trial run before the big day. To make sure you are a good fit. You would not buy a car without a test drive-well, today, maybe you would, but I digress. Your engagement session should answer the following questions:
Do you feel comfortable with them and can picture yourself working together
through a 10 or 12 hour day?
Does the photographer have a personality style you enjoy?
Does the photographer make your feel good about yourself?
How does the photographer handle stress?
Does the photographer help your understand what they are asking your to do?
Secondly, the couple learns some common core posing and what works and plays up to the camera the best for them.
Unless you are a professional model, most people do not know how to pose correctly. It is a learning process. This is your chance to work with your photographer and learn what is your best side or what pose feels the most comfortable to you and looks the best. Now, more than ever. couples are bombarded with images of beautiful people in beautiful poses. Social media shoves it in our faces every darn day. In a way this is great. It shows so many options. But it also sets unrealistic goals. Not every couple has the physical ability to recreate some of the amazing poses
off Pinterest or Instagram.
Couples need to find the posing that feels comfortable and most like them.
I repeat. Find the pose that feels right for you.
This includes candid images. We all love those candid un=posed moments full of true feeling.
Even with candids, it helps to know how you photograph to avoid disliking the images later for simple tweaks that could have been made.
You cannot fake real emotion. A laugh here or there, ya fine. But true honest emotion, not so much. It is the same for what makes each couple unique.
So go ahead and scroll through your social media feeds searching for what you gravitate to.
Please remember, just because it looks awesome for couple X does not mean the same for couple Z. Your engagement session is your
opportunity to find what feels and looks the best for you both.
Engagement sessions are complimentary with wedding package booking and cannot be exchanged for other coverage or services. This is my opportunity to work with you as your photographer PRIOR to your wedding day or event.
